Every now and again, I like to do a mini reset to get back on track after over indulging. For instance, after the holidays or after a vacation. In the fall of 2022 I decided to try combining juicing and brothing instead of exclusively juicing and I really enjoyed it! Here I’ll explain how to combine juicing and brothing for a gentle reset.
Juicing
If you’ve been around for a while, you know I’m all about being as healthy as I can be, but making it as easy as possible. A couple of times a year I like to do a gentle “reset” and this reset is super easy. When I juice+broth I like to grab juices from a local juice bar, but you can also make your own! This set I get includes four green juices and two root vegetable juices. I divide these juices up over two-three days. I’ll explain how I used the juices in just a bit.
You can make these juices at home with a juicer as well or grab four green juices and two root vegetable juices from any juice bar. Here is a good reference on how to get started on juicing.

We do have a juicer in our home that we use occasionally and it’s a great one. I’ll link it here.
Brothing
Regarding the bone broth, I personally prefer the brands “Kettle & Fire” and “Bonafide Provisions.” Not all bone broth tastes great for sipping. I find these specific brands delicious, nourishing, and I approve of the simple ingredients. You can find both of these brands at most health food stores. I’ve linked the Kettle & Fire brand, which can also be bought on Amazon. “Bonafide Provisions” is found in the freezer section of health food stores.
Day 1 & 2 (Juicing + Brothing)
Note: Always remember to listen to your body. Everyone is unique. You may need more broth throughout the day, and that’s OK!
Upon Waking – big glass of water with 1/2 lemon squeezed in it. I’ve previously written about lemon water and its many benefits. I still enjoy my warm cup of black tea or coffee in the mornings and warm herbal tea (caffeine-free) in the afternoon. If you want to try and cut your caffeine, you can do that. Totally up to you.
I personally like to intermittent fast until about 11 -12 AM on the first day of the reset. Which is usually a total of 16 hours of fasting for me. I’m too hungry on the second day to fast! Ha! I’m ready for that first juice on the morning of day 2. (I typically avoid fasting during PMS or Menstruation). Play the fasting by ear… it’s not for everyone and takes time for your body to adapt to it. Give yourself grace & time! I have a blog post on intermittent fasting if you’d like to read up on it.
Breakfast – Juice 1
Root vegetable juice – I prefer to have a root vegetable juice in the morning because they are typically higher in natural fruit juices and I want to avoid the sugar in the evening.
Snack 1 – 1 cup of Bone Broth
I typically put the bone broth on the stove, leave it in a pot and dip out what I need throughout the day. I account for somewhere around 16-24oz for the day.
Lunch – Juice 2
Green Juice
Snack – 1 cup of Bone Broth
Dinner – Juice 3
Green Juice
This is how I combine juicing and brothing for a gentle reset. A gentle u-turn for my body to get back on the path of healthy living. I hope you found this helpful. If you are interested in a longer reset, you can find the blog post here.
