(Blog Post Updated February 2022)
Y’all know how I feel about non-toxic household cleaning products in our home. However, it can feel like a run-around trying to find the right products that check off all the boxes. Believe it or not, just because the label says, “all-natural,” “organic,” or “green,” it doesn’t necessarily mean there are no hidden potentially dangerous chemicals. I have tried my fair share of less toxic brands along the way; some work, some don’t. Honestly, it’s been a process, ten years in the making!
Why Should You Switch to Safer?
Toxins and harmful chemicals wreak havoc on our health. Only about 30% of the 17,000 petrochemicals available for use in your home have been tested for safety. Conventional household cleaners are full of ingredients that pose both health and environmental hazards including possible carcinogens, skin or respiratory irritants, allergens, birth defects, chemical burns, poisoning, and hormone disruptors.
Curious if your household cleaning products are safe? The Environmental Working Group is an excellent resource! Check it out!
Ingredients to avoid…
– Ammonia
– Fragrances
– Phthalates (associated with fragrance)
– Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS)
– Sodium Laureth Sulfate (SLES)
– Brighteners
– Formaldehyde
– 1, 4 Dioxane
There are many more but those are a few.
Well.. that’s enough doom and gloom. Insert the solution to the problem! A brand that creates non-toxic, high-performing cleaning solutions that are also affordable!
Introducing Branch Basics
I came across Branch Basics a couple of years ago and really took a liking to their story, product, and overall simplicity. I’ve been using them ever since. Here’s a quick summary of Branch Basics:
- The company was founded by three women with three different health stories, but one goal – to overcome personal health issues and cut out toxicity from their lives.
- Branch Basics uses one solution to tackle all cleaning needs.
- Their product is plant and mineral based, pure and toxin-free.
- The founders want to educate their followers and clients with their #tossthetoxins movement and blog.
How Does it Work?
You use one concentrate to meet all your cleaning needs. Mind blown! You have a few different purchasing options, but in their premium starter kit, for example, you receive five empty bottles, a bottle of concentrate, and an oxygen boost. That one single bottle of concentrate creates your laundry, foaming wash, all-purpose, bathroom, and streak-free cleaners. Wow!
If you are a visual person, such as myself, you take one of the empty bottles from the starter kit (let’s say… the all-purpose cleaner), fill the bottle with water to the marked line, and add in the concentrate as the label shows. Bonus… the bottles are reusable! That easy!
15% OFF ALL STARTER KITS FOR YOU!
I reached out to the company to see if they were interested in partnering up together and they were! They’ve given you guys a code to get 15% off. 🙂 The Glass Starter Kit is a perfect one to start with!
Use Code “POISED” for 15% off all Starter Kits, except the Trial Kit.
In Conclusion
Branch Basics is the real deal. I really like their ingredients, the process is simple, the product is effective, and the cost is pretty affordable considering all the various uses and how long one bottle of concentrate can last. I love a company that makes it simple for consumers to trust! Check them out, and I’m sure you’ll love them, too!

I am totally going to try Molly’s Suds combined with essential oils on a wool dryer ball. I’ve tried some safer laundry products in the past but my husband’s gym clothes weren’t having it. Thanks for the recommendations and I love your blog!
