Hi guys! This is my fall clean beauty makeup routine. I should probably let you know I am a minimalist and the older I get (I’m 37) the less patience I have for beauty routines that take a lot of time. I’m also doing my best to “age gracefully” without all the toxins and fillers. (TRYING keyword there… no clue how I’ll feel about all this in 10 years). Therefore, I try to choose clean beauty products as often as I can. Why clean beauty? Here’s a post explaining why clean beauty is important. My spring routine is pretty similar, except I’ll switch over to a few pink shades. Most mornings, I spend about 5 minutes throwing on a tiny bit of makeup in the mornings and maybe 10 minutes for a date night or girls’ night.

My skin is prepped here with Beautycounter’s Countertime Anti-Aging line. A VERY hydrating, clean beauty skincare line that targets fine lines, and wrinkles and lightens and brightens the skin. The main ingredient in this line is bakuchiol, which is a plant-based retinol. OBSESSED, to say the least! Oil cleanser, essence, serum, moisturizer, and eye cream. (If it’s summer & hot & humid, I leave out the moisturizer.)
Face
I began with the tinted moisturizer for this video because it was a normal day, nothing fancy. If it were a night out, a business meeting, or if I needed a little more coverage, I’d combine the dew skin and the skin twin foundation or use the foundation alone.
I then applied concealer to brighten the under-eye area and any other areas with redness. Next up, oil-absorbing mattifying powder. This isn’t like the 1990’s Covergirl powder, think light and translucent, just there to soak up any excess oil, not to cake down or sink in the creases.
For fall and winter, I love Beautycounter’s truffle cream blush. It is a multi-tasker product. I use it for a quick eye shadow and lipstick some days.
Eyes
I was gifted this beautiful Jane Iredale eye shadow palette by my friend Rachel. It’s a beautiful palette for hazel or green-eyed gals. I take the eggplant color and apply it to the lids, then take a warmer tone and line the bottom lash lines. After the eye shadow, I use my favorite (not clean beauty) eyeliner. I love a winged eyeliner and I can’t find a comparable clean version of this liner. It makes application SUPER easy and stays all day, that’s why I love it. Lastly, I finish off the eyes with my favorite mascara, Thrive.
Lips
I have found the older I get a good lip liner is my best friend. It makes the lips appear bigger and fuller and lasts a long time. I line the outsides of my lip then usually blend with my finger. For this video, I took a dab of my cream blush and dabbed on my lips as well. I do this often. Lastly, I topped this look off with my favorite clean beauty gloss! Can’t be beaten!
Brows
Brows are actually a very important part of my makeup routine. I find full brows really frame the face. I use a brow pencil to fill in any sparse areas. Wanna know a secret? If you don’t have full brows.. you can apply Rogain extra strength for men to your brows and they will fill back in! Take a Q-Tip dip it in the formula and apply it to the brows. Apply before bed. I did this years ago after I had my boys and I had a lot of hair loss. Worked like a charm! This is not clean beauty… just a little tip for those that need it. 🙂
