According to the Environmental Working Group, the average woman uses about 12 products containing 168 unique ingredients every day. Men use about 6 products a day containing 85 unique ingredients. Many of these unique ingredients have been linked to hormone disruption, cancer, infertility, and other health issues. Our skin is our largest organ and we absorb about 60% of what we put on it. This information is a big reason why clean beauty is on the rise.
When we take a look at health from a “holistic” point of view, we can not turn a blind eye to this information. It’s real. As a health and fitness professional I’ve always strived for a healthy lifestyle and encouraged others to do the same by eating healthy, exercising, and avoiding processed foods etc…but it wasn’t until 2016 that I really dove into the research of clean beauty.
The problem I had always ran into before was the products I tried that were “clean” didn’t perform well. Well, one night in 2016 I came across Beautycounter online. What they were doing and all they were about sounded incredible. They were meeting a need in the marketplace. So I got my hands on some products and they blew me away. Clean and high-performing products? Yes, please!
Therefore, most of the beauty products I use are Beautycounter. I’m definitely not 100% non-toxic. You do the best you can. I’ll be sharing some of my favorite clean beauty products soon. Until then, if you want to learn more about my favorite clean beauty products reach out.
